Sean Sheridan was known as a player of perfect skill and balance in the forward line. He was very clever with great pace, poise and flair and first-class sportsmanship
His input into every game was considerable - especially at club level and there were several moments of sheer brilliance in his many years playing the game. He was a prolific scorer - both from play and frees - over a 25-year period. Sean’s captained the Junior football team who won Castletown’s first ever county final. He played Senior with Castletown from 1961 to 1979 in a number of forward positions. Sean’s Intercounty football career was also praiseworthy; he was a member of the Wexford Senior football team for several years. He won a Leinster Junior Football medal in 1963. Honours won 8 county medals for senior football with Castletown in 1965, 66, 69, 70, 73, 76, 77 and 1979. He won a county junior medal with in 1960, Junior Hurling with Liam Mellows in 1964, Intermediate Hurling in 1967, as well as Juvenile Football with Rockies in 1952 and two Minor Football in 1953 and 54.
